Etsy recommends at least 2000 pixels in both dimensions. Resizing a small source cannot restore missing detail.
Crop or add breathing room
A landscape or square first photo gives room for changing thumbnail crops. Preview the thumbnail in Etsy rather than assuming one fixed crop.
A lighter download
The preset exports a JPEG on a 4:3 canvas. That ratio is a working choice, not a universal Etsy upload requirement.

A few things to know
Is 4:3 a required Etsy ratio?
No. It is this tool's practical preset. Etsy recommends a horizontal or square first image and previewing the subject in different thumbnail crops.
Does this make a small photo high resolution?
No. The tool resizes and encodes the existing image. Start with a larger original when your source lacks enough detail.
Can I upload transparent PNGs to Etsy?
Etsy says transparent PNGs are not supported and transparent areas can appear black. Flatten the photo onto an appropriate background.
