About shooting general & campaign
Every other hub on this page is organised around a material problem: glass reflects, leather needs raking light, dark spirits bottles swallow their own shape. This one is organised around a different kind of demand — brands whose product does not sit neatly inside skincare, beverage or any single vertical, or who need campaign-level marketing rather than a straightforward product still.
Most of what lives here is out-of-home and editorial staging: a product mounted on a city billboard or a metro panel, or set inside a magazine-style cover layout with masthead and cover lines already composed. Both formats do the same job regardless of what the product actually is — they signal scale and authority that a plain studio shot cannot, which is why apparel, accessories, packaged goods and mixed catalogs all show up here rather than in a category of their own.
A handful of lifestyle and studio templates round the set out for products that need a clean still without the campaign framing. If a specific vertical hub above already fits what you sell, start there — this category is built for the products, ranges and campaigns that fall outside them.
What to watch
- 01
Use this when nothing above fits
Mixed catalogs, general merchandise and products that span more than one vertical usually get better results here than being forced into an adjacent category.
- 02
Billboard staging signals scale
An out-of-home mockup implies a brand large enough to buy outdoor advertising, which is a credibility cue a plain product photo cannot carry on its own.
- 03
Magazine covers suit launches
Cover-style layouts with masthead and typography read as press coverage rather than an ad, which is why they perform well for launch and announcement posts.

Jewelry Product Photography: Reflections, Sparkle and Scale
Jewellery photography is a fight with physics. Polished metal reflects everything around it, so choosing the staging is choosing what will appear on the product; broad, even lighting flattens a stone's fire, so facets need small, directional light sources to flash; and buyers consistently misjudge the size of jewellery from isolated shots, so one on-model image resolves scale better than a millimetre measurement.

How to Make a Promotional Poster Without a Designer
A promotional poster works when it carries one message, one dominant image and one action, in that order of size. Decide the single thing a passer-by must take away, give it the largest type on the page, put the product or offer image where the eye lands first, keep body text to a line or two, and leave at least a third of the poster empty so the rest can be read. The most common failure is not bad taste — it is trying to say four things at once.

Planning Seasonal Campaign Visuals: A Calendar for Product Brands
Seasonal campaigns fail on timing more than on creative: the visuals arrive when the season is already underway. Work from a fixed calendar — Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, back-to-school, Halloween, Black Friday, the December holidays — and have imagery ready four to six weeks before each moment for marketplaces and two to three weeks before for social. Produce each season's set from the same product photo restaged into seasonal scenes, so a full year of campaign visuals costs one photo shoot.

Are AI-Generated Product Photos Allowed on Etsy, Amazon, Shopify and TikTok Shop?
Yes, with conditions that differ by platform. Etsy allows AI-created items and images but requires sellers to disclose AI use in the listing description. Shopify imposes no restriction and offers AI image generation in its own product tools. Amazon permits AI-generated imagery generally, and — according to press reports of a July 2026 seller notice — now requires a metadata label on images that contain photorealistic AI-generated people. For TikTok Shop we could not find an official policy on AI-generated product images, so we do not state one.
